Divorce and Family Related Matters

Divorce and separation are invariably traumatic experiences for those involved, particularly where there are children. We have great experience in dealing with divorces, disputes over residence and contact with children, financial issues, and other family difficulties; we have a very sympathetic approach, and endeavour to deal with our clients and their former partners, with the utmost tact and diplomacy, so as to avoid inflaming the situation further. However, we are very capable of rigorously defending our clients whenever the occasion demands, we prefer to adopt a non-confrontational approach wherever this is appropriate, so as to minimise bitterness and friction between those involved, particularly for the sake of the children. At all times we attempt to seek the most cost effective way of resolving disputes, so as to preserve family assets to the maximum extent possible.

We encourage parties to use Mediation so as to reduce legal costs. We also advise on Cohabitation Agreements, where couples do not wish to marry or enter a civil partnership, and on Pre-Nuptial Agreements, to set out an agreement as to what should happen to pre-owned assets and family assets which may have passed to one party, in the event of a relationship breakdown.
